Transforming a Cozy Home Office Into a Sophisticated, Multifunctional Space

For our Armadale 2.0 project, we gave a cozy home office a modern and sophisticated makeover, making every square inch count. The goal? To create a moody yet inviting space that didn’t feel gloomy, that could be flexible for working and hosting guests.

We sourced a spacious, minimal open shelving unit that cleverly uses vertical space—and here’s the best part: it transforms into a Murphy bed, effortlessly turning the office into a guest bedroom whenever our clients have visitors.

The contrast of off-white and black tones is balanced by warm wood accents that glow when sunlight streams through the side window, giving the room a welcoming feel. Among our favorite features are the stunning Joni sconces, tying into the brass accents we incorporated throughout the space.

The floor-to-ceiling shelf/Murphy bed combo offers a perfect canvas for curated, sophisticated decor. We extended the brass theme with charcoal and terracotta accents to keep the aesthetic timeless yet bold. Most of the time, the shelf is beautifully styled, but when it’s time to host, it seamlessly converts into a guest bedroom—function and style perfectly combined.
