RESIDENTIAL PROJECT
Nestled in one of Toronto’s most iconic mid-century modern complexes, this AVOCA condo is more than just a home—it’s a testament to art, history, and thoughtful design. Collaborating closely with our client and Stacklab, we reimagined this 1-bedroom, 1-den, 2-bathroom space to blend mid-century modern aesthetics with contemporary living, while also highlighting the client’s prized art collection.
From the outset, we knew this project would be all about balance—keeping things minimal, but rich in character. One of the primary goals was to give the artwork its rightful spotlight, so we focused on creating ample wall space paired with discreet lighting solutions. Streamlined skinny downlights are subtly integrated, vanishing into the ceiling while providing just the right amount of illumination. To complement these, we introduced key accent light pieces that bring an element of warmth and style without overwhelming the space.
The kitchen, though condo-sized, is a masterpiece of its own. The black-and-walnut cabinetry adds depth and contrast to the room, while the clever use of space ensures ample storage without sacrificing aesthetics. The herringbone white-washed white oak floors give the entire space an airy, minimalist vibe, allowing the stunning Toronto skyline—a work of art in its own right—to take center stage. With floor-to-ceiling windows, we kept the view unobstructed, ensuring that every sunset feels like part of the interior design.

A key feature that steals the spotlight in this home is the de Gournay wallpaper in the powder room. Custom-sized to fit the space perfectly, this hand-painted beauty features an intricate design of fish swimming across the walls, adding a touch of whimsy and artistic finesse. It was a true jewel on our client’s wishlist, and it quickly became one of the must-have pieces that brought personality and luxury into the condo. The wallpaper transforms the powder room into a serene underwater escape—a visual masterpiece that anchors the space.
