RESIDENTIAL PROJECT
Our Toronto-based artist client engaged STACKLAB and CARV Projects to reimagine the kitchen and bathroom of their country home in Mulmur, Ontario.
The dated yellow-stained wood cabinetry no longer aligned with the client's vision, prompting a creative redesign. The project focused on functionality and individuality, introducing double kitchen islands—one for cooking with a sculptural range hood and brass countertop, and the other for entertaining, featuring open shelving and a blend of stone and wood. Textured glass pendants above cast a soft glow, enhancing the space's contrast and texture.
In the principal bathroom, the vanity wall became the focal point, featuring a double sink vanity in reeded stained white oak, adding warmth and a tactile element. A statement-patterned floor tile brought energy and movement, while a black freestanding tub added sophistication, contrasting with the lighter elements. Deep bronze plumbing fixtures balanced the tones and textures, creating a harmonious retreat.
Ultimately, the home is a character-filled countryside escape, blending artistic vision with functionality.
